Algae for Cellulite Reduction

I recently wrote about how seaweed wasn't a weed but was really a gathering of algae. Well, there is another type of algae commonly known as "green algae" that is also used in cellulite treatments, and in fact, this particular type of algae has been used in masques and body wraps for the sole purpose of reducing fat and puffiness.

Plucked from lakes, rivers and streams, women have been using the stuff as a beauty aid for centuries.

How they one day decided to put sludge that grows on top of the water on their body's to make themselves look good I dunno. Maybe some really unattractive chick slipped, fell in some algae and came up looking stunning.

Whatever the reason, the use of algae to beautify is an ancient tradition.

In the modern era the cosmetic industry sees algae as an indispensable resource, especially when it comes to cellulite reduction.

How does it work?

Simple.

Algae purportedly increases collagen production and can rid the skin of harmful free radicals that significantly alter its appearance.

Although green algae is often used, red algae is said to be just as beneficial for cellulite reduction.

This amazing little tid bit has once again , whet my appetite for further knowledge about natural ways to get rid of cellulite. Stay tuned...
